We are so lucky to have many wonderful wedding celebrants in Christchurch and Canterbury. For many couples choosing a wedding celebrant can be one of the most difficult decisions in the wedding planning process, as this person plays a major role in how you will remember your wedding day in years to come.
I always suggest to clients that I work with, that they meet a few celebrants to see who they feel most comfortable talking with and who they think most understands the vision for their wedding ceremony. Most celebrants will have ideas to help you plan and personalise your ceremony and will put together a comprehensive run sheet that includes any reading, vows or music you want incorporated so you know what to expect when you get to your wedding rehearsal.

My name is Kate Clark and I am a Christchurch based celebrant. I have just finished my first season as a celebrant and loved it! Being part of people’s special day is truly an honor and one I do not take lightly.
I have wanted to be marriage celebrant for a very long time and now my kids are a bit older it is time for mum to do her thing. I just want to help make a couple’s day as special as it can be. My style is relaxed and friendly but also professional. With my event management and hospitality background I know what is possible and do my best to achieve that.
One of my favourite parts is to meet a couples family’s and I love seeing the connections made and grow stronger as they all work together to make the day as perfect as it can be. I believe making everyone feel special and relaxed, it definitely makes the day go perfectly.

Julie Lassen
My name is Julie Lassen, and I am an experienced marriage celebrant practicing in Christchurch and the Canterbury region. I have been a full-time Celebrant for over 15 years. During my career as a celebrant, I have pronounced over 1000 lovely couples husband and wife; not as many wife and wife or husband and husband; and plenty of partners for life.
That really sums up my style, I am relaxed and positive and do not judge. Instead I offer lots of ideas in how a couple can make their wedding day their own. Nothing is impossible and I have experienced most things and every now and then there is something new.
I have a lovely husband and he currently cooks dinner every night and a 12 year old daughter who is a very talented writer. I am happy to offer my services to you as your marriage celebrant on your wedding day should you require a relaxed celebrant.
I invite couples to come and visit and I ask lots of questions to get a feel for what the couple are wanting. I then invite the couple to ask me their questions and can then offer ideas for making the ceremony special.
