Tipapa Estate

If you’re after a historic yet elegant wedding venue in North Canterbury, then look no further than Tipapa Estate! The current and magnificent Tipapa homestead was completed in 1928 and is just over an hours’ drive from Christchurch. The homestead, and extensive gardens and grounds, are available for your ceremony and post-ceremony celebrations before moving into the Homestead Dining Room or Marquee reception for dinner and and dancing.

The venue also has onsite bed and breakfast accommodation available (4x double rooms, with ensuite).

• The Homestead Dining Room – 40 guests
• Marquee on the Homestead Lawn – 150 guests

Dancing on Moonlight

Dancing on Moonlight, just a short 30-minute drive from Christchurch CBD, is a secluded and luxurious property surrounded by beautiful gardens. It is a perfect place for an intimate wedding.
The hire comes with three luxurious bedrooms for you and/or your guests to stay pre and post wedding (2 nights included). The Breeding Barn houses a private bar, piano room and outdoor entertainment space that overlooks the private 9 course golf course. This stunning venue is perfectly positioned for marquee receptions and outdoor ceremonies from 6 – 200 people.

Milton St Substation

Milton St Substation is an contemporary event venue located only a few minutes from Christchurch CBD. Recently renovated, it has a fantastic and unique industrial style.
The venue offers difference spaces including 3 interior areas, a large north facing balcony and a private courtyard.

Capacity:
Up to 290 guests inside the building at one time + 50 more outside on the courtyard

Bangor Farm

Bangor Farm is just a short 30-minute drive from Christchurch and set amongst beautiful scenery with extensive lawns and majestic oak trees. Offering several larges indoor and outdoor spaces (including 2 marquee sites), it can accommodate up to 300 guests.

Capacity:

• Up to 300 guests in the Barn Room
• Up to 120 guests in the Long Room
• Up to 200 guests in the Auditorium

Ilex (Botanic Gardens)

Offering a stunning and iconic setting, Ilex is right in the heart of Christchurch Botanic Gardens – one of New Zealand’s most beautiful gardens.
From historic conservatories (the Townsend and Cuningham houses), to a greenhouse glass-ceiling and the Ilex Café, you will be spoilt for choice for your ceremony and reception.

Capacity:

• The Ilex Events Space: up to 130 people for a sit-down function or 180 people for a stand-up event
• The Ilex Café: Up to 120 people for a sit-down function or 180 people for a stand-up event
• Cuningham & Townend House: up to 180 people for a stand-up event

Peppers Clearwater Resort

Searching for a classic and romantic style? Surrounded by beautiful gardens and overlooking a lake, Peppers Clearwater Resort, located 15 minutes from central Christchurch, has it all!
Three different spaces are available to hire, with the Kaikainui Room being the most luxurious one, built over lakes and featuring floor to ceiling windows.
The resort has plenty of accommodation options on-site, from villas to suites, for you and your guests.
